February 2018…

So after a very difficult few months we are now making great progress and looking forward to the year ahead.  We are finally starting to settle in our new home and I have a new office and Studio set up and it is providing a fantastic space for me to work around family and farm life.  My diary is open for commissions and photoshoots for the year ahead and I will continue to cover the Perthshire area as much as possible as it holds a very special place in my heart and I plan to visit often.

I intend to do a lot of work on my website in the week or two ahead to ensure it is up to date and as full of information and inspiration as possible.  I am also on Facebook and more recently Instagram and have opened a Zazzle shop, where you can purchase some of my work. (I intend to add significantly to this over the weeks and months ahead as well)

December 2017…

It has been a very busy and trying few months, unfortunately without very much work getting done.  We are in the process of moving to Aberdeenshire from our much loved Perthshire home and although this has been extremely hard for us it also opens up some fantastic opportunities and creates lots of new possibilities for us as a family.  We will have a new farm to look after and a lovely new house to make our home.

I wish all my clients and those who have supported me this year a very Merry Christmas and all the very best wishes for the year ahead.

September 2017…

This month I was delighted to take part in the local contribution to the Perthshire Open Studios at Kirkmichael Session House.  I had a small display alongside some other fantastic local artists and although I didn’t succeed with much in the way of sales it was a worthwhile and enjoyable experience.

July 2017…

A very busy month with Photoshoots, commissions gifted and some still being worked on as well as some good enquiries that will hopefully fill the diary over the next few months.  Also enjoyed a fantastic session with GrowBiz Perthshire on the best use of Facebook for Business.  This was a valuable session where I was also able to meet some more local business owners from my local area and learnt lots more about GrowBiz which is a wonderful Business support network for small Business and Entrepreneurs.  Had a wee holiday from home with my partner and our kids last week, which was a useful break to reflect on my direction and how to focus myself going forwards over the next few months.  We are due to start calving again at the end of August so I’m sure the next few months will be busy and as always there is never a dull moment…

June 2017…

A busy few months topped off with some brilliant news that I have had 3 images chosen for the Belted Galloway Club Scotland Calendar 2018.  This is such an honour but to top it all off 2 of my images reached the top 3 favourites making 2nd and 3rd Place.  I have quite a passion for the belties and they very much spurred my increase in livestock photography so to have success with these lovely cattle really put a smile on my face.  I found out the wonderful news at the Royal Highland Show, Ingleston where I caught up with lots of people, took a few photos and made some new contacts.  There is a few equine and canine photoshoots coming up in the diary for the next few weeks as well as some secret artwork commissions so plenty to keep me busy.

June 2016…

I must apologise for another big gap in updates once again!  This time it has been due to a relocation, we have moved to the stunning Perthshire hills between Blairgowrie and Glenshee.  It has been a fantastic move for us as a family with a beautiful house on the farm where my partner is working full time.  We feel very lucky to have been given a wonderful opportunity and as an added bonus there is lots more room so I now have a lovely big office and studio at the top of the house.  There is an abundance of photographic opportunities on the doorstep including our lovely new cattle, and don’t worry we even have a small herd of Belted Galloways!

I will still be covering the Aberdeenshire area and the diary is well and truly open for summer photography bookings so why not give me a ring on 07825 800197 or drop me an email at michelle.g.m@btinternet.com and see what I can do for you.  I will also be visiting the Royal Highland Show at the end of the month so if anyone would like to arrange to meet up face to face to discuss a photo session or an artwork commission please get in touch and we can get something sorted.

December 2015…

Well it has been a very crazy 7 months since my last entry on here.  Our wee boy was born 5 weeks early at the end of May and it hasn’t stopped since! Baby Harry was early but healthy and is growing into a cheeky wee boy who keeps me very busy but happy.  So work has taken a bit of a back seat since then but I haven been plodding away in the background between naps and nappy changes.  I’m delighted to have a feature on the Belted Galloway Cattle Society Website as part of their ‘Belties in Art’ section.  This is a proud achievement for me and a breed I love and gets lots of inspiration from.  I plan to use my art to promote many more British native breeds in the future.

So next on the calendar is Christmas which I’m sure most will agree is usually a very busy and chaotic time of year so I plan to post again in the new year and have lots up my sleeve for 2016 and hopefully a bit more time to work on it.

Enjoy the festivities…

April 2015…

Things have been running along very well the last month or so, I have achieved my goal of getting much better with keeping website and facebook more up to date and it definitely seems to be paying off with a massive increase in ‘likes’ and being able to reach out to a much bigger audience, I can only hope to continue to build on this in the months to come.  I would like to say thank you very much to everyone that has taken a moment of their time to have a look, ‘like’ and ‘share’ my posts, it means a lot.

I am getting a bit slower and more tired now at almost 7 months pregnant but with the great weather we have had over the last week or so and the feeling that spring is definitely in full swing I am still enjoying getting out and about with the camera when I can and have been able to spend more time working with lots of images I got last year but never seemed to have the time to do anything with.

As always, please don’t hesitate to get in touch regarding any images or services I provide as although I will be limited with time from June onwards this year I still hope to keep things up to date and am looking to get bookings for 2016 onwards for photoshoots, trade stands and a limited number of artwork commissions.

Bye for now, Michelle and Bump

February 2015…

Well the year has got off to a good start, I have some new toys to help the smooth running of the business, including a great new laptop from my partner for Christmas and an investment I have made into a new camera.  It has taken me over 6 months to choose the right camera for me and I have gone for another Sony.  It is the a77 SLT model and I am in love already! Due to having used sony for a few years now all my lenses are interchangeable with the new body which was a bonus and the handling and features are very similar to my old a230 but much improved in terms of speed, quality ect…

In other exciting news my partner Kenny and I are having our first baby together!  We are expecting the new arrival at the end of June and cant wait.  I have been keeping well and hope to still work away as long as I can doing what I can until the little one arrives.  I will then take a break (not much of a break I’m sure! but one from work anyway…) and then plan to pick up and continue with my photography, artwork and horses once we are in a nice routine and feeling up to it.

January 2015…

Well here goes to starting how I mean to go on.  Last year was a very busy and eventful and at times a particularly Challenging one, 2015 looks set to be one of the best yet.  I am fortunate enough to be able to focus on the business full time now and hope to start with lots of website updates, folio building and marketing for the year ahead.  So watch this space and I look forward to what I hope to be a busy and exciting year.

All the best, Michelle
