It's been really busy the last few weeks but we have finally finished spring calving and the cattle are outside enjoying the sun on their backs and grass in their bellies. It makes the long winter and hard days feel worthwhile seeing them all so happ

Something a bit different... This is a commission I worked on with a very dear friend, she came to me looking for a design that could be turned into a mosaic centrepiece behind the stove in her very special home in the North of Spain. The brief was
Something a bit different... This is a commission I worked on with a very dear friend, she came to me looking for a design that could be turned into a mosaic centrepiece behind the stove in her very special home in the North of Spain. The brief was to create something reflective of the nature around them, in particular the barn owls which are a special part of their surroundings. My design used the image of the owl with leaves, aiming to reflect both the seasons and the heat rising from the stove. Once we settled on the design I created full size paper templates to allow for the design to be traced onto the wall and then my amazing friend and her family transformed my vision into the amazing finished mosaic. Isn't it beautiful? As well as my usual artwork commissions I am also very happy to discuss design commissions.

SHEEP UPDATE It appears the sheep have moved earlier than planned so sadly you can no longer see them in the north east, but they will hopefully be in place at part 2 of the tour sometime over the next day or two. I am not sure where the woolly back

Today we went to visit some of 'The Woolly Backs' flockmates. Wallace created by Michael Ferns Design & Illustration and Rainbow created by @emma_mckie_designs look amazing in the Ballater icentre. I'd love to introduce you to 'The Woolly Back'.... These are the photos I took after 4 full days of painting at the Royal Highland Centre, tired but very pleased to have taken my design from an A4 piece of paper and pulled it off on a fibreglass sheep! As many of you know I am very passionate about farming as well as being creative so for me this project was the perfect mix of my passions and I feel so proud to be a part of it. I've found it hard to know where to start with posting here recently, but I know if I don't then social media makes a pretty good job of hiding my posts! The last few weeks have been really busy, half term, power cuts, looking after my four legged buddy after he got neutered, lodges, squeezing in some artwork, behind the scenes bits for flock to the show, new website planning and getting things ready for calving have given me little time to stop (who needs to sit down anyway! 🙈). I popped the calving list on the fridge this week which means the cows are officially allowed to start getting on with it now 😂 I don't think it will be long now and then there will be even more work to keep me busy! Really hoping for more artwork time too and the website is really high on my priority list too. Is there anything you would particularly like to see on the website?
